Among the various interviews I did for Slovenian “Grazia” in connection with the italian “Grazia”, I can mention the one made to Oscar de la Renta, an American designer famous for his stylistic code sometimes exaggerated for eccentricity with the aim of not getting unnoticed, an effect that has obtained using combinations with unusual textures and colors. He was also the father of the neologism “Fashion victim”, that identifies specific people being passive victims of fashion. Fashion influences their habits, both for the desire to be recognized and be distinguished from others, but also for the fear of being judged by society. It was a source of great inspiration to have been able to interview him.
Another illustrious and very important figure that I was able to meet is Michele Carella, famous for his spinal cord research, who brought great innovation to the field. It happened during an event for the inauguration of a ship which was also attended by Sofia Loren. Carella was the winner of the 2019 Merit Award, which was presented on 12 February in Manheim, Germany. It’s an important recognition for a life dedicated to hematology and research on chronic myelogenous leukemia as well as, more generally, to the study aimed at looking for more effective weapons to fight blood cancers.
